Yenny Polanco

A Personal trainer Fitness and figure champion superstar and qualifies for the Olympia in her first IFBB show!...

About me:

On Oct. 10th, 2009: I made my IFBB debut in Fort Lauderdale, FL. placing top 5, and then making the top 3! The top 3 at an IFBB show qualify for the Olympia! I beat out hundreds across the nation, and even previous Fitness Olympians (www.bodybuilding.com has the comp. pics). On Sept. 19th, 2009: I won NPC Fitness Championships in NYC! I earned my IFBB Pro status on my first Nationals! Again defeating hundreds across the nation.

Previous to becoming an IFBB Athlete, i was competing as a Fitness and Figure Prof. Athlete in other federations. Winning my first show this year, and defeating IFPA's International Champ! Won Figure America last Nov. in Las Vegas, NV.

I am a Lifetime Natural Fitness and Figure Athlete, a Champ, and was doing great outside of the IFBB. But it is the IFBB that is the most famous, prestigious, and the most competitive body building and fitness federation there is. So i am delighted and so excited about my future as an Athlete in the IFBB. It's going to be tough, but nothing great in life is easy to achieve....

Well thank you. Despite the fact that I suffer from insomnia and hardly ever get more than 3 hours of sleep,

my skin does look young and fresh. I think it has to do with the fact that I don’t smoke, and I don’t make faces

which will create lines or wrinkles, hahaha.

But on a serious note, I do eat very well. I make sure I eat all natural and organic foods. I eat plenty of veggies as well.

I don’t eat processed foods, or consume a lot of sugar in my diet. I also do cardio 3-5 times a week. And sweating is

one of the body’s major methods of eliminating toxins. I make sure I wash my body with an anti bacterial soap..

And on my face, I use a natural cleanser which is not fragranced, and contains no soap.

I also use a sun screen all year round on my face. And I do have a great Dermatologist, Dr. Daniel E. Viders

(www.drdanslipbalm.com) who extracts any black heads I might have on occasion. He prescribes small amounts of

Retin-A cream to use around my eye area, and that helps keeps my skin looking youthful as well.

Oh yes! I always use sunscreen, and I always carry a tube of Cortibalm with me. The stress of having a diet low in fat during

competition season tends to lead to drying of my skin/lips, and Cortibalm fixes it right away. I also always put on a bit of color on my lips.

A tube of Cortibalm, tweezers, and sunscreen.

I have to get a massage at least once every 2 weeks. My training is very intense, and my back is always hurting.

So the massages feel great. My chiropractor/Applied Kinesiologist, Dr. Jay Manning.. (www.manningchiropractic.com)

is an important part of my regimen as well.

I go to a spa about five minutes from my house. Lucky me that I was able to find such a great masseuse right in my town.

Her name is Chutimon, and she works at Silver Leaf Spa in Auburn, Ma. She is the best!

At night time I like to drink a glass of red wine, while checking my emails, watching T.V., reading, or writing my own articles.

I am a simple person, and I appreciate peaceful, quiet times and surroundings.

Oh Gosh! What don’t I do. Since I am a Fitness Coach as well as a Prof. Fitness Athlete in the IFBB organization

(International Federation of Body Building and Fitness), I train on many different levels. I weight lift 3x/week.

I do cardio 3-5 x/week, and concentrate on sprints, boxing, and jump roping for high endurance. I also do bodyweight

exercises to work on strengthening inside out, and I work on my core strength as well. I also work on flexibility

and stamina. It’s a full time job for me. And I am always challenging myself to be better, to do better, to go faster,

to lift heavier. It’s a constant challenge. That’s how I like it. I am hard on myself. I like to push myself beyond normal limits.

The ones I’ve created myself… ha-ha! I have come up with my own exercises focusing on core, endurance, strength

and flexibility without using weights! I can not wait to share with the world what I have. I want to do it before someone

else does. Great minds think alike, and I know that there are other creative trainers out there like me, who continue to

break new ground in the field of exercise science and training. Hmmm, I better hurry, huh? Anyhow, I like to jump

rope and I like all aspects of boxing, including heavy bag and speed bag work..

Yes my own! I call it Yenny-Licious mini meals. They are quick and easy to prepare mini meals… all of which contain

the three principal, nutritionally valuable cornerstones of a healthful diet; lean protein, good fats, and whole grain

carbohydrates with lots of fiber. I can not stand most of the so-called ‘diets’ which people undertake. As a Fitness

Professional I do not count anything. I don‘t count fat, calories, etc. When you eat foods high in nutrients and in the

right proportions, it‘s unnecessary. I call it nutrition by intuition! The world is obsessed with too many things.

I like simplicity, and so I apply that to my eating. It works for me. I don’t ever weight myself. I think that is another bad

habit that people should get rid off. Once a year during your annual physical; yes… or perhaps if you have a specific

need to keep track for competition, or weight loss. But it should not be a daily habit… not even monthly. It’s bad.

Body weight, per se, is of little importance. What matters is how you feel, and how you like yourself.

Yes, of course. Besides exercising regularly, I recommend avoiding processed foods, fried food, sugar, and anything

with artificial ingredients. Instead of fat-free, do a bit of olive oil which acts as an anti inflammatory. Instead of wheat,

choose whole grains. Instead of milk, which stimulates mucous production in your body, switch to almond or

soy! I could give you a big list! I invite anyone interested in my Nutritional Guidance to visit my web site!

I like so many healthy foods…Hmmm well I love to eat Sushi. I like the Salmon Sashimi, beef tataki, and edamane.

Lean protein and good fats with fiber… can’t beat it!

I’d like to thank my Sponsor at www.drdanslipbalm.com. His company has made my dreams of competing Nationally

and Internationally a reality! Dr. Dan is the creator of Cortibalm, the only lip balm with 1% hydrocortisone, which acts as

an anti-inflammatory. It heals dry, cracked lips do to sun burn, cosmetics, and allergic reactions.

Also a special thanks to Dr. Jay at Manning Chiropractic and Sports Kinesiology, and to my masseuse, Chutimon at

Silver Leaf Spa in Auburn, Ma.
