Salon Review Michael Van Clarke
Situated off Marleborne High street, is a gem of a hair salon. It was a pleasure to be welcomed by the super friendly team and even Michael Van Clarke himself. As you walk-in you sense the feeling of not only just luxury and glamour but of also peace and tranquility which is quite rare for a busy hair salon.
The stone fireplace in the waiting area makes you feel immediately at home, and gives you that sense of ease and comfort. I was kindly offered a drink and was introduced to the hairdresser who was going to do my hair conditioning treatment, she took me to her station and applied the new '3 more inches' treatment onto my hair. I must say I usually find it hard to relax and in usual circumstances I would have pulled out my Blackberry or laptop but I felt so relaxed by the chilled out atmosphere in the salon that I just sat back and just absorbed the uber-chic surroundings of the salon.
After around 10 minutes under the heated lamps, I was taken to have my hair washed by hair stylist Lee. He was really friendly and also really knowledgeable about hair products and hair in general. After shampooing and conditioning my hair Lee gave me the most amazing blow-dry imaginable. My hair looked and felt like it was worth a million dollars. It was so glossy and had a fantastic bounce to it.
I have left hair salons in the past having to go walk into the nearest shop with a mirror having to flatten the excess body the stylist has given me but I was really pleased to say I did not have to do this as I was left so confident with my finished result. I only sneaked in to the nearest shop to admire my hair in the mirror on this occasion.
I had a great chat with Michael about his new 3 more inches hair range which comes out in January 2010. It will definitely be one of the wonder products for 2010 and I believe it could change the way people treat their hair.
We seem to spend hundreds on anti-ageing for the face but it hardly crosses our mind about the ageing process of our hair. We forget that our hair is exposed to pollution, ultra-violet rays, central heating and not to mention all the mechanical damage done by hairdryers and hair irons. We spend a lot of time on our face applying creams and face masks.
Michael explained that having worked in the hairdressing profession for over 30 years, listening to clients bemoaning the fact they can't grow their hair long he found there were no products on the market specifically targeting this fundamental area of haircare so he set about developing his own range.
After researching product formulations and working for 3 years with 4 laboratories across two continents, the '3 More Inches' system was born. The products contain no silicones or parabens.
I've been lucky enough to be using the products for three weeks now. I use the Pre Wash Treatment prior to washing my hair every other wash, infact sometimes I put a bit on the ends and leave it in all night before washing in the morning. I've also been using the shampoo and conditioner too.
I can honestly say my hair has never felt better, it feels silky and looks really glossy. I had an inch trimmed off the ends of my hair a few days ago and with all the extra care I have given my hair over the past three weeks with the '3 more inches' products my hair feels stronger and younger.
